City Life

This is a mixed media painting using acrylic paints, and graphite, watercolor and hektograph pencils on a prepared hardboard panel.
I quieted my mind and just painted, without thought or direction. The colors, lines and shapes emerged and my goal was to see how they best spoke and interacted with each other. I didn't know what this painting would look like until it was finished, and it remains open to individual interpretation. I see a tiny house, surrounded by the big city's metro and skyscrapers.
